Hello,
I understand that Adobe is no longer providing support for pre-cc products. But after deactivating on my old computer, this problem persists (the 2nd device is dead and I´m unable to deactivate).
Would it be possible to at least reset activations?
Thanks!
Derek

it's the old one you're working on now. but if you can't re-activate or deactivate on that old one, you're at the end of the road with that old computer and adobe activations/deactivations.
and if you have no access to another computer with an activation, you're at the end of line ffor your cs5.5 activations.

there's no other way to deactivate other than using a device with a current action. if that's impossible, then it's impossible to deactivate and reset the activation limit.
btw, there are usually 2 activations allowed per license, so there are two devices with current activations. either can be used to deactivate and allow another activation.

Thanks for the response. I did deactivate on the 1/2 computers, but its as though that message is not being sent to the Adobe ´activation manager´. I then click "Retry Activation. I have aleready deactivated one of my other computers." but without success.
Any tips in the event one is still able to deactivate on the other computer?
Thank you

yes, you're correct. deactivation isn't so easy. the big catch is, can those computers communicate the deactivation with adobe's servers.
to convey the deactivation to adobe the computer must have an updated os and default browser.

I can´t be certain that I had the latest Windows update at the time of deactivation, but I can confirm that it is at this very moment and Chrome has long since set as the default. Any way of re-deactivating? As it currently stands the "deactivated" computer is receiving the same "Activation Limit" message

on the old computer that had you used to deactivate, you may be able to re-activate and then deactivate.

Yeah tried that, but it´s now claiming the serial number has already been activated on 2 computers even though it´s been deactivated on that same exact computer. Inside the application, the "Deactivate" option is greyed out.

is the activation option clickable?
again, re-activate, then deactivate

its not allowing me to re-activate on either computer. the new one or the old one that has already been deactivated. This is the message I get on both computers now. Neither of which I´m able to activate now.

Alright, thanks for your time. It probably boils down to signing up for a lifetime subscription, or enduring the dimentia inducing burden of learning a competing application. (after 20 years of using Adobe products)
Thanks again for your time, and have a good one

you're welcome and sorry there's not an easier answer.

signing up for a lifetime subscription...

There's no such thing as a 'lifetime subscription.' If you're offered one, run away. It's a scam. Bogus offshore sellers make so-called lifetime offers to unsuspecting victims and then disappear when the service stops, a month or two later.
MODERN OPTIONS:
==============
Photoshop Elements or Premiere Elements (3 year license, no subscription needed).
