Maybe I missed something, but the install app went straight to installing LR on my C drive. I didn't see a customize option on the setup app. This is for a PC, btw. I also noticed Creative Cloud files seem to be located on the C drive. I only have so much room there, so I want to select another drive.
How do I do that? Did I miss an option in the install?
Thanks

With the CC application opened, click the 3 dots in the upper right corner and then choose Preferences. In the Preferences screen select Creative Cloud and then look for the Install Location drop down. you can't install on a drive's root directory.

Actually, that didn't work. The issue is when I d/l the LR setup file and run it, it automatically starts the install process w/o giving me the option to set preferences. Who's idea was that??
I don't seem to have an option to download CC app except to my phone, so not sure what to do about this. It's kinda annoying that the setup program doesn't allow me to set the install directory and just decides on its own.

Hi Manylaughslol,
Are you using the CC desktop app to install the apps? The installation location can be changed only through the CC desktop app for the CC apps.
To know how to do this using the desktop app please see: How to select the location for the installation in the latest CC version
Let us know if you have any more queries.

Hi, Bani.
I just got the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan as a gift, so I don't have the CC desktop app. I don't see a way to just install the CC app as a download option, so maybe that's the place to start.
All the same, I'm a little put off that the LR download doesn't present a customize install and just installed to my C drive. I try to keep only microsoft system stuff on my C drive. I intentionally bought a relatively small SSD to save some money and put almost everything else on my larger, slower D and E drives.
The creative cloud could potentially take up a lot of drive space, so I'm very leery of having any part of it on my C drive.
So I guess, first, is there a way to just d/l the CC app? I don't see that as a d/l option in my account.
Second, can I place the CC app itself somewhere else besides the C drive?
Thanks for your help.

install the cc desktop app from here https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and use it to install your adobe subscription and trial programs.

Ha ha. The CC setup did the same thing. Oh, well. It looks like it's a small footprint. I'll just live with it.
I've switched my default install directory to another drive and folder, so I'm asssuming everything will install to my new default directory. Will temp files, etc, go there, too? I'm really concerned about how much space CC is going to use on my C drive.
So now for the costumer comment:
This is really off putting. You should provide the user with a customization option for everything Adobe installs on their PCs. It feels to me Adobe is forcing its customers into their box. That unfriendly. And frankly I'm stunned. I'm not the only person who has a small C drive. It's a fairly common practice.
I'll live with this, because I want to use your product. For now.

the cc app and some other files must go on the c drive and can't be easily controlled.
the main program files can be installed elsewhere (as long as it's not the root directory) using the msg 1 info.
production files etc can be saved on any (usually non-networked) drive. scratch discs, temp files etc are controllable for many adobe programs by editing that program's preferences.
