I am in a situation that's involving potentially losing a purchased product

I cannot update my computer to the newest version without possibly losing my purchased CS6 suite which I bought legally from an accredited art college. When I try to register my serial number it won't register (under the possibility I need to reinstall it with the new update) and from reading the forums Adobe considers anything not bought directly from their company is piracy even if it was from a tech store or school which is absolutely ridiculous. I am losing my patience as well as my ability to use software I once loved to use because my computer's OS is ancient and nothing runs on it anymore. What options do I have? Call Adobe for them to tell me my suite is pirated most likely or am I forced to update it and repurchase everything? Do I actually have to go to my college and get some sort of confirmation this was bought legally? If I have to purchase the subscription is there a video suite like the old cs6 because I don't see it anywhere.

Adobe does not provide telephone support for CS products.

Or explain... "When I try to register my serial number it won't register"

What exactly happens, including messages in full.

Or... keep your old computer with your old apps you don't want to pay to upgrade. Nothing says you have to scrap it when you get a new one.

It says the serial number is invalid which is what I read adobe made happen if you bought it from a third party and i'm not scrapping my computer, I can't update the OS! i'm stuck on an old OS where no software can run on it because of this bullshit.

I either have two options at the moment: update my OS, lose CS6 because adobe thinks its pirated or something stupid or keep my old ass OS to keep CS6 but can't run anything else on it.

Alannan62467632, please be aware that most Creative Suite educational serial numbers were tied to their installation files.  If you try to use other installation files then you will receive a message that the serial number is invalid.  Are you using the installation files that were provided with your purchase?  Are you able to view your serial number under your account at http://www.adobe.com/

For information on how to locate registered serial numbers see Find your serial number .

If you can send me a private message with the serial number you are using, I will be happy to verify the validity and confirm if it will work with the retail installation files available at Download Adobe Creative Suite 6 applications .  You can mouse over my name in the public forum discussion to send a private message.  Please do not post your serial number to this public forum discussion.

I already did a test run of a new OS on a separate hardware and did a reinstall and it registered it as invalid, same with adobe's website. Every forum post I read says its a way for adobe to stop "pirating software" by flagging software bought from third parties so you can see why i'm pretty pissed at the moment.

It is the original serial number with the original disks and not an educational copy or downloaded copy. In fact It was valid under my account years ago when I first registered it and its gone now somehow which i'm assuming Adobe deleted it? Every time I re-enter it on this Adobe site under the register your product and on the installation disks, it says invalid. What I want to know is if the serial number registers as invalid can I prove I actually purchased the product from a reputable source? Or is permanently blocked and theres no way around it?

Alannan62467632, the only serial number I am showing registered under your account is for an upgrade version of Photoshop CS for Mac OS.

There are a variety of reasons that you may be blocked from registering the Photoshop CS6 serial number.  If you can send me a private message with the serial number, it will provide additional insights as to why you are blocked.

I am also showing that you attempted to begin a support case on 1/16/19 but that you immediately disconnected.  If you are finding that chat process to be unavailable, or unresponsive, at Contact Customer Care then please use an alternate computer, smartphone, or tablet to begin the chat session.

Thanks for sending over the serial number, Alannan62467632. I can confirm that the number you provided is not an Adobe serial number.  This is why it is not being accepted.

Please review any documentation that was provided with your purchase.  Maybe a different number was provided for your serial number?
