I am not a professional graphic designer.  I just need to use Illustrator and Photoshop from time to time.  It is absolutely OUT OF THE QUESTION for me to pay the HUGE COSTS of subscriptions for the few times I need to use the software.  And I already have the software!  Just because I have upgraded my iMac, I should not be locked out of using my old CS4  and Illustrator 10 software.  There should be a free option for people like me.  This is WRONG WRONG WRONG and should be a case for the courts.  We paid for something that is now useless.  I want what I paid for.

If you run a Mac with Mojave or lower you still have access to your old software.

Apple dropped support for 32 bit apps in Catalina so only Adobe's current Cloud software versions will run on those. Probably best to direct your fury to Apple.

Illustrator 10 is 20 years old and CS4 is 12 years old. They won't be updated for a modern OS such as Catalina.

For occasional use, perhaps Photoshop Elements will serve your  needs better?

Hello,

I received an email from Adobe saying I can purchase CS-6 at a discounted rate - not a subscription, as I have already purchased CS-4 software in the past that is now unsupported.  I would like to proceed with that.  How do I do it?

Hello Renate,

CS6 has not been on sale for many years now, so I suspect that the email you got comes from a scammer.

Please check the address it was sent from, beware if it's not from "@Adobe.com".

Feel free to post a screenshot of the email here (but remove your personal details please).

Free upgrade when you upgrade your Mac? I couldn't agree LESS. That would mean you expect all the software developers to SUBSIDISE APPLE'S PROFITS. No, it would absolutely wrong. If you get a new system and your old apps don't work, then it is entirely right to pay for your apps to be updated, since someone has to do all that work.
