Illustrator won't launch; error 148:3

I'm getting a licensing error on a product I've owned for years. This is after buying into creative cloud and trying to install an update. Now, neither illustrator or CC will update. Any ideas?

Please check out these steps:

 

1. press Win + R, type in "services.msc" and hit enter.

2. search for "FLEXnet Licensing Service", double click on it

3. change startup type to "Automatic", click "apply"

4. press "start" button and then "OK" button.
