your  os drive must be non-caps sensitive to install the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud

the adobe programs can be installed on any non-netword non-caps sensitive drive. to Change Install Location for Applications

With the CC application opened, choose the little gear icon in the upper right corner and then choose Preferences.  In the Preferences screen select Creative Cloud and then look for the Install Location drop down

Michael, as Kglad has indicated the drive that contains the OS must also be formatted in a non-case sensitive file format.

If this a new MacBook then please reformat the drive to use APFS and do not choose the case-sensitive option.  For more information regarding Adobe applications working on case-sensitive file systems see Adobe error "Case-sensitive drives not supported" or similar install error | Mac OS .

Yes, Michael.  Once you format the drive using APFS you will be able to install the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application and any Adobe CC applications.  I would recommend bookmarking Learn how to download your Adobe Creative Cloud apps for once you are prepared to begin the installation.

This is outrageous, how come this is still (Oct 2019) the official solution of Adobe to this issue?

Reformatting my computer in order to install Adobe software is really a bad solution. When will this be supported natively?

The funny thing is that Adobe Lightroom from Mac app store is installable on case sensitive systems

I totally agree, this is outrageous and a total JOKE from Adobe.. I will NOT reformat my system drive and lose case sensitivity on ALL my files and directories. All my machines have case sensitivity turned on for a reason. It's not the file system's job to fix the user space problem of someone being sloppy naming their files.

The maximum inconvenience I'm willing to accept is to create a separate APFS volume, but it looks like they blocked that too. This is by the way an easy workaround to get Steam working (which fails installation for similar ridiculous reasons).

The only proper solution is for Adobe to fix their software.

I am sorry to say that this solution did not work for me: I had to wipe my SSD clean and start completely over. In other words, just adding a new APFS volume on my drive, although I made it case-insensitive, was not enough. The Adobe install app kept seeing my SSD volume as case-sensitive!
