Hi All,
I'm having nothing but problems using and installing Adobe products.
Having had many issues with Elements (Editor Crashing, Organizer constantly loosing thumbnails) I decided to try and install Lightroom.
Successfully downloaded the .dmg file, double click on it and nothing happens. Downloaded again and same results. Rebooted mac and same result. Google around and saw a comment that creative cloud app is required for instalation to work. So went to my Adobe account found a link to download CC app double clicked on .dmg file, installation starts, then stalls at 45.5% (waited about an hour), quit install and reload, same result with instalation stalling at 45.5%.
Before giving up entirly, any suggestions??
Running on: iMac, macOS 14.3 (23D56)
Maureen

I did try the alternative site for CC yesterday, it took an hour to download 9%, so I gave up. However I tried again today and it worked! Unfortunately any attempt to access "apps" or "apps in your plan" resulted in "Page not availible".
Never the less, I attempted reinstall of Lightroom, which has now compleated without any problems. So far.
What sort of software company allows users to download software, that requires other software to be installed, and then has that instalation fail silently, with no indication of the problem, when the required software is not present?? Do they not know they have a computer there that can rapidly check this sort of stuff and maybe offer to dowload and install it???
If it were up to me I would never use any adobe product, but I'm just the House tech support, it's my wife who wants Adobe... But I do have her looking at other vendors.
Now, lets see if LR will actually work!

you were able to install lightroom using the cc desktop app, but the cc desktop app failed to install other adobe apps?

No. CC gave "Page not available" for apps button and "apps in your plan". So I've never seen any install option on CC.
I installed LR using the previously download standalone install option. This time it worked without stalling.

adobe connection errors are common and are not related to whether you're connected to the internet. they're related to connecting to adobe's secure servers.
if you have a non-current os, your default browser must support tls 1.2, https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/eol-tls-support.html
to test your default browser's tls you can use , https://clienttest.ssllabs.com:8443/ssltest/viewMyClient.html
otherwise, confirm that you can connect to the secure adobe servers by reading, http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html
do you see both logos after clicking "link"?
if you can and still see a connection error try these steps, https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/common-network-connectivity-issues.html
if those all fail, white list the adobe network endpoints, https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/network-endpoints.html
or, if you’re trying to activate a perpetual license, you can try offline activation by disconnecting your computer from the internet, starting activation and using https://aoes-stage.licensingstack.com/aoes/aoes/v1/imsauthstatus

My issues are currently "fixed," but as you have gone to some trouble, I shall respond.
