Installed Photoshop CC and now my Lightroom 6 has become Lightroom CC 2015?

I have standalone Lightroom 6 software installed on my Mac. My husband bought me the cc subscription (with a different Adobe ID) and I installed Photoshop to the Mac (but NOT Lightroom CC). Then when I went to open Lightroom, suddenly it doesn't say Lightroom 6 anymore - now it's Lightroom CC 2015.

What happened to my Lightroom 6 software? Was it auto-uninstalled somehow?

Can I run both Lightroom 6 and Lightroom Classic CC? Would I want to, or should I just download Lightroom Classic CC?

your lightroom 6 was upgraded to lr cc.

just save your lr6 serial number so if, and when, your subscription ends, you can replace your subscription lr cc with your perpetual lr 6.

That's what I thought happened. However, any edits I make on Lightroom cc are not backwards-compatible with Lightroom 6, so I would lose all those if my subscription ends?

Also, is "Lightroom CC 2015" Lightroom CC or Lightroom Classic CC? If I were going to upgrade, I would go with the "Classic" one. Really annoying that Adobe replaces your other software without asking when you add a new product.

you should post lightroom specific questions on the lightroom forum.  (i'm not a lightroom expert.)
