I bought CS6 Master Collection back in College and have been using them until now. From then and until last year I was using a Macbook Pro 15 inch (2014) and had no other computer in use. This year I opted to change to a newer Macbook Pro due to some incompatibilities with other programs I need at work. And despite the horrible resolution of my late CS6 on the retina display, they were okay to install (Photoshop/Illustrator/In-Design), except for After Effect.
I needed the app for work as of recent, but I couldn't install them on the newer laptop. A friend told me once that I can install them on a different computer, is that possible? I own an old iMac (2011) that has a decent graphic card that I can use.

Before you use a old adobe app read this article

The article does not mention much about pre-Creative Cloud, which is the version I'm currently using CS6.
But thank you for the information.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. As suggested by the experts above, you can install the Creative Suite version of the application on any computer which meets the requirements.

I tried to install them using the CD that I have, but when I inserted the serial numbers (as per listed and given by Adobe on my account) it was rejected. I triple checked if I had mistakenly put the wrong word or number, it still didn't work. Shall I contact the customer service for this?

AvantiSukma, are you using your registered serial number when you attempt to install After Effects CS6? You can find information on how to locate your registered serial number at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/find-download-link.html.
If you are using the registered serial number then see https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-serial-number-valid-product.html for steps you can take to resolve the error.
Please update this public forum discussion, if you have any questions.

Did you download the installer again? And was it a student license?
If so it won't work. You must use your original installer.

Do you have CS6 installed on 2 computers, or only one?
Did you DE-activate on your old computer before installing on your new computer?
If you still have your old install active, and you installed on a new computer, you won't be able to install on a 3rd computer until you DE-activate on the old computer... as far as I know, installing any part of the suite uses an activation, which I think may be why your 3rd install is not being allowed

I think I did deactivate them when I changed my laptop to a newer one. And I have not installed them anywhere else aside from that new laptop yet as, again as mentioned above, the serial number got rejected.

Hmm...
1st install was deactivated, so both activations are available
2nd install activated properly, leaving 1 activation available
3rd (partial) install not allowed, even though should now be the 2nd activation
I have no idea why your new install won't activate... UNLESS your 1st install did not properly DE-activate
When you have a non-functioning computer and can't deactivate a serial number
BE SURE TO ONLY ASK FOR ACTIVATION SUPPORT TO ADJUST YOUR ACTIVATION COUNT
