Hello there. I'm new to this forum so not sure if this has been asked previously or not.
I've a low end laptop & after switching to win10 now it even takes a couple of mins to boot up. I've installed Creative cloud as I want to use Dreamweaver but so many things running on background that it makes my device more slow and I'm hardly able to code and watch the tutorials live anymore.

I would like to know if there is any possible option to download and only keep Dreamweaver installed and removing the un-necessary stuffs like the Creative cloud desktop and others.?

Thank you.

Make sure your computer meets the minimum CPU & GPU requirements to run Creative Cloud.  Most Creative Cloud apps work on:

  • Windows 11 (64-bit), Windows 10 versions 21H2, 21H1, 20H2, 2004, and 1909 (LTSB branches are not supported;)
  • macOS 12 (Monterey), macOS 11 (Big Sur), macOS 10.16 or 10.15 (Catalina).

Creative Cloud won't run without Creative Cloud desktop app.

The app is essential for downloading & installing, updating and verifying CC subscription status.  The app is also necessary to access online tools like Cloud storage, file sync, settings sync, Adobe Libraries, Adobe fonts, etc...

So to answer this year-old question again, you need a compatible computer with sufficient resources to support your OS, plus Creative Cloud plus any other apps you wish to use.

yes, you can contact adobe support for a link to the latest cc dw version.  some older versions are available via prodesigntools.com

to contact support: using a browser that allows popups and cookies, contact adobe support by clicking here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative. ie, double check for an employee badge if contacted in the forums and look for an adobe.com domain in the email address if you click reply to an email. then check again and be very suspicious. any other method of contacting (or offering to contact you) is almost certainly a scam, https://community.adobe.com/t5/using-the-community-discussions/staying-safe-in-the-adobe-support-com....

p.p.s you can also use phone (but chat is usually quicker), https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/phone.html

p.p.p.s. you can also use twitter to tweet @AdobeCare.

It's not your laptop only, that's the problem with Dreamweaver, I have an I7 10400 with a 10 gig video card and 16 gig ram, but I still have to clear the Dreamweaver file list in the registry every so often, due to the fact it bogs down to a standstill.

After you install any software from Adobe, you cannot uninstall Creative Cloud, it will tell you, you have installed software if you try uninstalling, I'm paraphrasing, but that's the jist of it. I have been using Dreamweaver since ver 4.

I have been in IT for a long time! I would opt for a lightweight solution like CoffeeCup HTML editor, or Notepad ++; though Dreamweaver has its Pros and is great at organizing 100 different websites, and its FTP solution is wonderfully simple. Most people use it for WYSIWYG live split screen, due to the fact they are not comfortable with html code. But Dreamweaver is probably not a good solution for your hardware at this time.

@BillPetros

you can uninstall the cc desktop app after uninstalling cc apps installed by the destop app. ie, if you want all adobe software removed:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
