Why can't the end user have multiple versions of each app? The latest update somehow deleted other versions of adobe illustrator and apparently you can no longer maintain multiple versions.
Adobe illustrator 2021 has preference issues, therefore I should be able to open illustrator 2020.

Reddy, sorry for any confusion. You can use the process listed in https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html to install the previous version of Illustrator.

You can also choose if old versions are removed as part of the update process. Please see https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/update-app.html for more information.
