I am working in Windows 10, Ryzen 7700 processor, 64 mg RAM and have a new motherboard. I need my Acrobat X Pro program but it will not read my PDF files (that it created over the past number of years) telling me they are corrupted. They weren't yesterday when I use the program just prior to my rebuild. Now the Adobe program, although licenced and activated, refuses to activate on this computer despite have no activated devices listed in my profile.
What must I do to get the program running (activated on this computer) and what might I expect when I am getting messages that the PDF files are corrupted.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Did you do a full reinstall after changing your system? Your previous install would be linked to your old hardware (much like Windows itself would be)

Yes, I did complete reinstall, but I moved oy OS on the NVME drive so the computer must hae some residual information then. At least that points the way. But as far as my devices, I have deactivated anything that was listed. Woudsl that problem then be inside my computer? The Control Panel does not show the Adobe products in order to uninstall anything. Am I back to square opne with the install? Wipe my c-drive and reinstall starting over then?

you don't need, nor can you, re-register acrobat x. you just need it to be installed and activated.
is it?

Outside of compatibility issues (Windows 10 by nature is outside Acrobat X's normal compatibilty range; there's lots of threads on that issue if you want to seach that up to see what others have experinced), I'm curious where you got your Acrobat X.. was it part of a CS6 install or was it a standalone purchase. If the latter, on your Adobe Accounts page under Products, is it listed there (possibly with its serial number)?
On the install you just did, what version is it exactly?

you can receive an excess activation, not registration, count message. the only way to remedy that is to use a computer with an activated version, and deactivate (open app > click help > sign out or deactivate). there's no work-around.

not anymore. the days of adobe support resetting activation counts is over. they say the servers that were used to perform that service no longer are operable.

So how am I supposed to get this to work?

i already explained. if it's impossible for you to comply, it's impossible to activate your legacy app.

Well that is very disappointing. I'll have to find another program to open my PDF files.

yes, adobe's recently done several user-unfriendly things recently.
