My hard drive broke down and I had to reinstall windows and Lightroom 6.

I have Internet connection, but process for some reasons cannot be completed.

On the beginning I had two options, register now or later.

Right now is only one "Register now".

  Thanks

Also which version of Windows?   LR6 will never be tested to work on Win 11.

Windows 7.
Lightroom was working previously on this version of Windows, but hard disk
got corrupted.
First I tried to reinstall, but program hang on opening.
Then I decided to reinstall everything on the new windows (the same copy of
Windows 7).
Lightroom is working fine on my laptop.

Thanks

@Mark21861534mqpj,

You will need to install the Microsoft Easy Fix to enable TLS 1.2 connections on your outdated Win 7 machine.  Also get an updated browser.  Without more secure TLS 1.2 connections enabled, you can't connect with Adobe's or any other commercial web servers.   This article explains it in more depth.

https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/eol-tls-support.html

Incidentally, Win 7 is obsolete.  MS quit supporting it in Jan 2020.  And MS just released Win 11.  So you know what that means. 😥

Best of luck!

I installed Microsoft Easy Fix and added entries in the registry for TLS
1.1 and 1.2/
This time the program asks me for ID and password and requires a code sent
to the phone.
Everything went smoothly to this point. After this operation I saw a window:
Serial Number Validation with a message asking to connect to the Internet.
I know that Windows 7 is an old system and I am using Lightroom 6.
But it was working fine to this point.
Best regards

Unfortunately a corrupted hard disk is not an Adobe related issue.  And besides, LR 6 is discontinued & unsupported due to its advanced age.  That's the risk you take with older software.

When you're ready to upgrade to new equipment, Creative Cloud Photography Plan (approx $10/month for 12 months) with ongoing support includes the following:
- Photoshop CC and Photoshop on iPad
- Lightroom on desktop, mobile and the web
- Lightroom Classic

- Latest Camera Raw with support for modern cameras
- Portfolio website + hosting
- Bridge
- 20 GB cloud storage (upgradable to 1 TB).

I know that corrupted disk is not Adobe issue, but your software should
work.
Right now it doesn't work on the brand new disk.
I am retired and cannot afford the new systems, especially when old one was
working just fine.

It's not MY software.  This is a user-to-user community.  We don't work for Adobe.  We are all product users just like you.
