Macbook M1

New Here ,
Nov 27, 2020 Nov 27, 2020

Hey,

I'm a photgraphy student at college and I'm thinking about getting myself a Macbook for college but unsure which one I need.

I'm sort of on a budget but would like one that would get would I need done.

I'm mainly going to be using word, powerpoint, chrome, photoshop, lightroom, indesign an maybe premiere pro.

Would the base modle Macbook Air with 16GB Ram and 256GB SSD be fine or should I get the Macbook Pro 13inch with 16GB Ram and 256GB SSD?

The reason the SSD is so low because I'll be storing most of my work on memory sticks, SD cards and memory sticks.

Many thanks,

Rosemary

You need LOTS of internal, fast, disk space. Photoshop can easily need 50GB free, just to start and run. No Creative Cloud product is yet made for the Apple M1, so it's far too early to say what the syste, requirements will be. Right now, M1 is for people who need to test in advance to see what will work in future. I have one on order to do that, I wouldn't expect to be able to do any work on it.
