No idea what to do - XD exit error code 183

WARN: Program "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe/Adobe XD/PluginCleanup.exe" failed with exit code: -1073740791

Every time I try to download Adobe XD this pops up. When I go to the website on the error code and solution it just says to click retry and downloads again. I click retry but the same error code keeps coming up.

HI There.

Please try this simple step to fix this issue

Go to CONTROL PANEL>Programs and features> Add or remove programs

Look for the programs whose name starts with Microsoft visual C++

There must be 7 or more such programs

Uninstall all of them one by one

Then try to Install XD

once XD is successfully downloaded you can Restart your machine and all the microsoft visual c++ programs will reappear again

YOU ARE ALL SET

Hi, have you tried running Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool? It could help you remove all the files related to a certain software and find some corrupt files that could give you some problems. Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner

Don't know about the OP, but this worked for me. Thanks @italosan , really appreciate it!

Edit: It worked, but on reboot, I'm getting the same error again. Uninstalling it doesn't seem to fix anything now either.

Program "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe/Adobe XD/PluginCleanup.exe" failed with exit code: -1073740791

I am really sorry to hear about the encountered problem and I am really happy that our community managed to come with a workaround (great job Mudabir). In the meantime we identified the issue as being related to some older versions of MS Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable which might be present on some machines. We implemented a fix around it and it is already publicly available starting today with the latest version of XD, namely version 21.1. The update is available through the Creative Cloud application.

As a note, the fix addresses the specific case of error 183 during installation caused by the failure to run "PluginCleanup.exe" (which is the exact one mentioned in this thread).
