I run MacBook pro High Sierra 10.13.6

It says my Mac is not compatible if i want to download indesign. Why is this? Can't i download an old version?

High Sierra isn't supported by Apple, so it isn't supported by Adobe either. Apple push forward very hard, to kick out old apps and systems, and sell more hardware. It's all part of the Joy Of Mac.

You'll need at least macOS Catalina if you want to install current Cloud apps.
