Paypal Option - Not clear on payment details

This is more of a insight piece. Hoping this will help my fellow Adobe CC users who may be experiencing issues using PayPal as a payment option.

On the Adobe account page when you first set up PayPal as an option, you are prompted to log into your PayPal account. Once logged in you set up your payment details as whatever you choose (credit card, bank, etc.). Here's the kicker...even though you're given these payment options through PayPal which is through Adobe...they only accept funds from your PayPal Balance Only. I'll explain my story.

For the past 2 months I had payment issues with my subscription even though I had the available funds in my bank account ready for PayPal to accept (or so I thought). I had a credit card attached before but for right now I'm unable to use it so I went with PayPal for the time being, but I digress. I have called both PayPal and Adobe customer support back and forth trying to resolve the payment issues between the two of them. They seemed to point the finger at each other for a while and I was getting completely fed up with not getting answers and getting the run around.

I was able to do a 3 way call between Adobe and PayPal today. Adobe explained to me their current payment options which are Credit, Debit, or PayPal. I knew this already. What they don't explain clearly about PayPal is that you have to have funds available in your PayPal Balance for payments to be accepted. I found this out the hard way and through a 3 way call. So even though I had funds available in my bank which I thought would've been taken from PayPal, that was clearly not the case here.

My question is why bother offering payment detail options through PayPal (which is through the Adobe account) when you only accept from the PayPal Balance only. This needs to be clearly laid out somewhere on your website or FAQ pages for setting up PayPal as an option so you don't go through the hassle like I did on something so specific.

I'm not a Paypal guru, but I didn't think until now that the receiver of the funds would know how these funds were shuffled in the Paypal account.
