I have tried now about 6 times to update my Creative Cloud Photoshop. All other applications can be updated. Only Photoshop continues to give me  a update failed message. I uninstalled Photoshop and that didn't help. I have now disabled the firewall temporarily to see if that works and that didn't help...... I am not sure why only Photoshop isn't updating and of course I cannot USE it until this is fixed which has affected my productivity all day long.

For others having this issue and cannot get help. I ended up going into my Adobe Folder and changing the Adobe Photoshop CC to a new name. After I did this, the update finally was able to be completed. It couldn't read Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 (for whatever reason)......

  • Go to: OS/ C drive
  • Program Files
  • Adobe
  • See Adobe CC 2018 (rename to: AdobeCC2018OLD)
  • Retry the update

I'm having a real issue, I have PS CC2020 in my HDD drive and NOT my "C" drive, because i was running out of hardrive space for my operation software.  Anyway, all updates have worked up until this new one, for stablitiy, and it gets to 93% then fails, error code 146, this is the first time this has happened.  So i went to my program fold I made in my "D" drive, found Adobe Photoshop 2020 (No CC), and changed it to like you decribed, (only mde it 2020), and my permissions wouldn't let me change the folder name.  I checked my Administrator privileges and that's good too. I am concerned if I uninstall PS, (all the other apps updated fine, and Bridge is in the D drive too), that I won't be able to reload PS.  Can anybody help me out on this issue?
