To the planners at Adobe. I read a recent announcement that Adobe plan to cut support for older Operating Systems with the next release of CC. Whilst I can appreciate where Adobe is coming from with this planned change, as a user of Creative Suite, this change will seriously curtail my use and benefits of the Adobe products I pay for.
I, like I think many other users, have been (unfairly) limited to older Operating Systems by Apple's policy of precluding hardware from using the latest OS on the arbitrary condition of age, not capability of the hardware. I have a Mac Pro Quad Core (2008) desktop mac. It is still a highly capabale machine, even 10 years after it was released (although it has been upgraded with newer Graphics cards and SSD drives).
I also, like many others, would have liked to consider upgrading my hardware in the last few years but Apple have not made a suitable and affordable replacement machine. Apple has been promising to release a new Mac Pro machine since 2016 and each year they fail to deliver, only promise more and deliver nothing. Meanwhile, their policy of choking out newer operating system use on older machines continues, meaning in my case, I am currently limited to 10.11.6 El Capitan OS-X. An OS that I understand is NOT planned to be supported by the next release/update of Adobe CC.
I urge you to reconsider your plans to at least consider support for El Capitan. It is not really the fault of the users that we are in this situation. Until Apple deliver on their promise of a reasonable Mac Pro replacement machine, there are many of us CC users still having to make do with our existing older machines. It is not clear that this is going to change in the next 12-18 months.
