I'm trying to install Photoshop Elements 2022 to a new computer running Win 11 with more than adequate RAM, processing power and storage. During installation the message pops up: Sorry, installation failed. We are unable to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 2022 this time. (Error Code: 183) When I click on Get Help link, it took me to the Adobe website and gave me this "solution":
Error code 183 indicates an installation or update failure.
Select Retry to install or update the app again. If this doesn't fix the issue, follow the instructions in "Fix error 183 when installing Creative Cloud apps."
The problem is there is no "Retry" to select. So I clicked on the Fix error link. The only solution offered that appeared related to my particular problem was to delete a folder in the C:\ drive and reinstall the program. I tried that and got the same result. So, I'm stumped.

Upon digging a little deeper into support material on the Adobe website I have come to learn that only the Photoshop Elements 2024 version is listed as compatible with Windows 11. (BTW, I clearly pointed out above that I'm using the 2022 version and that my PC is a Windows 11 device.)

This is what solved it for me and allowed me to install Elements 2022 in Windows 11 laptop: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-elements-discussions/my-solution-to-photoshop-elements-2022...

wasn't that info in my first post link?

Not really. The relvant informaton *for me* (APE 23) was "MS Visual C++ 2013 Redistributables." I already had MS Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributables which doesn't work. I never would have figured that out. I'm not a software developer but adding that to the install seems required.

for others, that second paragraph at link i posted:
"First, the installation may be unable to complete due to missing or damaged operating system components. For example, a damaged or missing installation of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables (Windows) or Rosetta 2 (macOS on Apple Silicon) can lead to Error code 183. Installing the necessary components and verifying that the desktop computer meets the system requirements will correct the error."
means you should:
repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)
update all ms visual c++ versions that can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

For me, the solutions presented in the link I posted https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-elements-discussions/my-solution-to-photoshop-elements-2022... was much more specific and helpul.

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. I tried what was posted but kept running into difficulties - one way or another. So, sad to say, I threw in the towel and just paid up for the Photoshop Elements 2025 version on a 3-year rental. That works fine, and I get a few upgraded features. I found the solutions offered in this very complex to perform; I just don't keep up with the minutiae of solving PC problems like I used to - so I had to give up trying if I was going to get any work done. Either I'm getting dumber or you need a Galaxy Brain to keep things working on PCs anymore. Anyway, best wishes to all who contributed suggestions. Thank you very much.
