I was wondering how I am able to put Adobe Softwares such as Photoshop on a hard drive so that the program is not on my computer but I am able to use it when the hard drive is plugged into my laptop. I am struggling with storage space and I would like to do this with numerous programs such as AutoCAD too. Thanks
Photoshop needs a desktop operating system to run. In most cases, that's on your primary hard drive.
However you can tell PS to use an external drive for scratch disk space.
To free up space on laptop, move your work files to externals and uninstall all software that you don't use reguarly.

I was not aware that Cloud programs (any Adobe programs) could be installed to an external, removeable drive

Personally, I would never install programs on removable storage.
