question about TIMING of Creative Cloud membership ACTIVATION

Hello all. I have a question regarding timing of redeeming Creative Cloud membership for a new purchase:  On Black Friday last week, I took advantage of a low-priced offer and bought a home license for Adobe Acrobat Pro.  However, I have held off activating this purchase since my current Acrobat Pro license is still good and does not run out until February 15, 2025.  My question is: can I wait to activate my purchase until February when my current license runs out or must I activate it now immediately?   If I am obliged to activate now I will naturally lose over 2 months of use of my current version.   Many thanks in advance for any advice.  John in Rome

You could wait to redeem your code, but if it is invalid, you will need to work with the reseller to obtain a new code or request a refund. I recommend verifying with whoever you purchase the membership from regarding their replacement or return policy. ^JW

Hi. Many thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I do have a code. The reseller is
Amazon. Amazon emailed my question to Adobe but three days have passed and
there has not yet been a reply.

Okay, it would be best to submit the code as soon as possible. Amazon has a good return policy, but it is not for two months.

If the membership is the same type, then the code will be applied to your existing membership. If the code is for a different type of membership or even a different SKU, which may not be visible to you, then it will show up as a new membership under the same account. Just for the record, Amazon has advised that there is no deadline for redeeming my code and that I am free to wait until my current license has expired (next February 15) before activating my purchase. Thanks everyone for helping arrive at this happy ending.  John

fwiw, i've used redemption codes from adobe for years and apply them as soon as i get them.  the added term is always added to the end of the current expiration date.  whether that applies to amazon codes, i don't know.
