"Creative Cloud Installer.app" crashes and does not install anything.

The 'Creative_Cloud_Installer.dmg' opens, I open the 'Creative Cloud Installer.app' which is in the disk image. This app opens, asks me for account authorisation, i enter my mac os password. It begins installing then closes suddenly. At this point the .dmg is unmounted and deleted too. I can see no sign of it having installed anything. WHAT is going on??

...I should clarify; I'm using Mac OS 10.14.6 and downloaded the installer .dmg from this page: https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/desktop-app.html

hmm so after using the 'creative cloud cleaner tool' and the 'creative cloud uninstaller.app' and a couple of restarts, the installer has now got to the end and creative cloud has opened! Very weird.
