This site has is a complete joke. My elements 12 would not open, I tried reinstalling and the same thing happens.

It is doing the same on my laptop. I feel I was manipulated into buying elements 18, and now none of my other filters open..........Akvis, Topaz labs, Anthropics, etc. etc.

I have been trying to find a phone number to talk to a rep, and have tried the chat tab but it keeps sending me here.

Accountabilty no longer exits in the world today, but Greed is running rampant.

Sorry to unload on you Melissa, but this was the only window I was able to open.

Brucem6002873, I am sorry for the errors you are facing.  We are not actively looking to remove your ability to use Photoshop Elements 12.  This is why Adobe employees like myself come to these forums to provide assistance for older software titles.

It may be that you just need to re-add the third-party plug-ins.  Is it only third-party plug-ins that are no longer available?

If you do need to download the installation files for Photoshop Elements 12 they are available

Brucem60028734, sorry you are facing problems contacting chat or utilizing Photoshop Elements 12.  Do you receive any specific errors?  What operating system are you attempting to use Photoshop Elements 12 on?  What happened on the computer prior to Photoshop Elements 12 failing to open?

My OS is windows 10. There was no error message, but a page of icons opened instead elements. Since I loaded 18 on my computor 12 will open, but the filters are not there. My laptop I was able to get 12 to reinstall without loading 18, and the filters are there. Is 12 32 or 64 bit?

Brucem60028734, Photoshop Elements 12 is a 32-bit application.  You can find the system requirements at Photoshop Elements system requirements .https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/system-requirements.html

I am unsure why the filters are unavailable to you.  Did you move your previous installation of Photoshop Elements 12?  Why did you installing Photoshop Elements 2018?  Did you receive an error when reinstalling Photoshop Elements 12?

I reloaded Topaz labs and I'm getting some......but not all of the plug-ins. I'm going to contact them. I just thought it was adobe's way of phasing out 12, I could not get it to re-install on my desktop. It did re-install on my laptop after I had already made my first post.

OK, Brucem6002873, please be careful if you are receiving a phone call or being contacted via Skype.  Adobe no longer offers direct support for Photoshop Elements 12. Anyone offering to repair your installation of Photoshop Elements 12 directly is not working on our behalf.

Another question Jeff. I did get Elements 12 loaded back on my computor after I had already updated to 18. With both 12 and 18 loaded at the same time it was only recognizing certain plugins on each program. So I uninstalled 12 completely and am In the process of reinstalling my other programs, but when I click on a photo and hit "open with" Elements 18 comes up as an available opening program but it does not show the image when elements 18 opens. I then have to go to "open" on the editing page and find the photo once the program is running.

Brucem6002873, it sounds like the file association may have been removed when Photoshop Elements 12 was uninstalled from the computer.

I would recommend you start a new discussion in the Photoshop Elements forum with the specific behavior you are experiencing.  Please make sure to include that this started to occur after Photoshop Elements 12 was removed from the computer, Brucem6002873.
