reading EOS 80D files with lightroom 6

I recently purchased a Canon EOS 80 D.   but I can't read its raw files from lightroom 6.0.   I understand that lightroom 6.5 can read EOS 80D raw files but it appears that I can no longer upgrade to lightroom 6.5.   Does anyone have any suggestions  other than upgrading to lightroom CC.   I'm  only an occasional  photographer and use lightroom only a few times a year.   Thanks for any help

Hello - I have the same problem - how did that link solve your problem?

I have the original perpetual License Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6.

My "About" shows: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6

Version 6.14 Camera Raw 10.1

Unable to import my 80D Cr2 files.

I assume the next version 6.5 was only available to those who bought the CC subscription?

Any fix aside from converting to PNG's?
