New Here ,

Trying to reinstall InDesign CS4 and setup keeps telling me to close my Bridge CS5 which is not open!

Can't go on.  What should I try?

If you're on Windows, launch the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), search for Bridge CS5 in the list of running applications. If you find it, right + click and select End Task.

If you're on a Mac, open Force Quit Applications (Cmd + Opt + Esc), find Bridge CS5 and click on the Force Quit button. If for some reason Bridge CS5 is not listed, there may be a related process still running. I can't say for sure that Bridge runs any other related processes, but if that is the case, you can Open Activity Monitor (Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor.app) and look for a process that is not responding. I believe those show up in red. You can Force Quit a process by selecting it and clicking on the button with the "x" in the upper left corner.
