All day today I've been trying to update Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom, Camera raw.

The CC App pops up error messages about not being online, "this is taking longer than normal". I used the Cleanup tool to remove the app and have reinstalled it and it's made no difference.

My connection has been solid all day, my download/upload speeds are as normal. I've downloaded other items from other sites without any speed issues.

So can anyone help?

I'm about to give up with Abobe. I don't see why I should pay my money for such lousy service.

try resetting the cc app: To reset the Creative Cloud desktop app, make sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

if that fails, try to repair
https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html

if that fails go ahead and uninstall/reinstall per the above link

if that fails, do a clean cc install following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html
clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
check for, and if available, update your os
restart your computer (don't skip this)
reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.
if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)
use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

Thanks for the reply.

I tried everything without success and in exasperation thoroughly removed all Adobe software from my PC.

I reinstalled the CC app and have now managed to reinstall the most important ones. However the process, while faster than yesterday, was still absurdly slow for a fast connection and a powerful PC.

Before I even got to reinstalling anything else the CC app threw up a 505 error immediately after I installed it! Fresco refuses to install, it gets to 60% then fails. The log shows yet another 505 error.

Adobe may cater to professionals but they fail to provide a professional service themselves.

Anyway thanks for your help and now I'll try to make up the time I've wasted thanks to Adobe.

I was using it as admin.

But I found a help item on the Adobe site and that pointed me to the Secondary Log On Service. When I checked I found it was disabled. After I enabled it and set it to auto start it solved my install issues.

So everything seems OK, fingers crossed.

Downloads could still be faster, but at least I can get on and install.

Thanks again for your help, it's appreciated.

Here you go, the bit about Beyondtrust Powerbroker meant nothing to me, I searched my PC, found nothing so I ignored it. But enabling Secondary Logon did the trick.
