A couple od days ago Creative Suite CS5 Design Premium stop working. I have tried everything and nothing has worked. Customer Rep sent me the wrong download link to the Master Collection which wouldn't accept the Serial #. Another customer rep kept telling me to post here... don't know why he couldn't help. He insisted. I downloaded the right program and reinstalled again. When opening photoshop I get: "Unable to continue because a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable." When I open Illustrator I get: "missing requiere plugins. BRS Pencil Tool ExpandS" This just happened suddently. The last thing I remember doing before I noticed it wasn't working was a Norton Scan and also, something with fonts on Corel Font Manager. Any Idea of what could be happening. Much appreciated.

I am using Windows 7 Pro - 64bit - One thing I am noticing that I can't recall being there is that most of my folders locations has the name of the folder with a W and a horizontal Line strike. Would that have something to do with it? I just don't know.

CS5 won't run on Catalina. See this link.

At some point you may have to decide which is more important. Clinging to outdated software or keeping your OS updated with latest security patches. .

Thank you for the response. Although it is outdated software it has worked well for me and don't really have a need to go with the lastest and best. If I can still using the CS5 for a couple more years I will be happy. At some point I will need to upgrade to Windows 10 since Windows 7 will became unsupported in a couple of months. I just need to get my original set up to retrieve some files.

I was able to install CS5 although I don't know if what I did helped. I started the computer by pressing F8 and start with "last known good configuration" I load the disk and all the programs are working fine. I am trying to make a backup disk just in case that if I shut down or restart the system it may revert to the configuration I had problems in the first place. Keep my fingers crossed. I also tried to update the software and it a notice came up saying that it couldn't update because some errors. To try again. Also I am trying to create a restore point and somehow is not letting me. If you have different suggestions please let me know.
