The installation shuts down with Big Sur

When I updated Mac OS to Big Sur recently I had to remove my Adobe programs to clear enough space for the update. Today I was trying to reinstall Creative Cloud and Photoshop, but the installation shuts down. I manage to download the files and doubleclick them, fill in my computer password, but then the bar runs up to 100% very fast and all the installation window shuts down, without adding the programs to the launchpad.

I've been through the installation process several times and tried to restart my computer without further success. 

Any ideas?

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, and how full)?

You may not have enough hard drive space available.
