Trouble reinstalling Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

My Adobe Acrobat Reader DC stopped working. I uninstalled, and then reinstalled. However, when I click on Acrobat_DC_installer, I get the error message "The following disc images could not be opened. Reason. No such file or directory."

I really need to read pdf as in yesterday. Consider me waiving my arms and crying for help.

Thanks!

Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6

Where did you download that installer from, exactly, please? It does not sound like Acrobat Reader.

Also, I made sure to choose the download for the Mac OS.

I've tried it 3 different times, only to get the exact same error message.
