Trying to install a copy of ae cc 2017

New Here ,

Hi all

I'm trying to install a copy of the unfortunately discontinued ae cc 2017 by copying it from one computer and pasting in another. I get this error: After Effects error: internal verification failure sorry! {Required plugins folder missing}. Does anyone know how I can do this? Contacted Adobe support but they just told me it wasn't possible. There must be other files that will allow it to install but which ones???

Thanks

Ray

Hi

You can not just copy an application from one PC to another, you need to run the installer, Adobe After Effects 2017 is considered an unauthorized version, more info

Why must there be a way? No Windows app of any complexity works if just copied. So much in other places including the registry, and licensing is designed to fail if copied. You need the installer, and Adobe won’t give it to you. I think they are right.

As any other responder here: There is no way to copy paste programs from one computer to a second one. Software needs to adjust a lot of things during the install process, so you need to use the correct installer.

The only work around is to clone the whole OS with the programs and to copy that clone to a different computer. That could do the job, but you will wipe out effectively all what is installed on the target. This is more or less also what happens when you restore the system state from a back-up after a crash.

If you have an old installer you could try using that one. It's the only possible way to install. I doubt it will run, however, due to licensing restrictions.
