I'm trying to install CC desktop. It is getting stuck in a loop switching to authentication page, then popping back to the installer, then heading back to the authentication page, etc. It tries about 4 times then gives up. I've tried rebooting, clearing out all my website data, logging out of CC. None of that has helped.

Hi Chuck,

Some of the things I would recommend trying in that situation

  1. Try using the Cleaner Tool to remove your Adobe ID credentials from the system https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html  (You can see the option within the step 3 screenshot)
  2. Ensure you're using the M1 compatible installer - Here is a direct link to the installer https://ccmdl.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/KCCC/CCD/5_8_0/macarm64/ACCCx5_8_0_592.dmg taken from the alternative downloa

  3. Error 206 usually relates to some kind issue with your internet connectivity and being unable to reach the Adobe servers https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-download-install-logs.html#error206 I'd recommend going through the solutions in that article and see if they help, especially test using a different internet connection.

Hope one of these helps,

Dave
