I purchased the basic photography $9.99 package mainly for Photoshop and Lightroom.  However, during a webinar I watched I understand that thru this package I have access to build a website for myself.  What is that application called?  How do I go about doing that?  The only tools I have used with this package has been PS and LR.

Any advice you can provide I would be so thankful.

Hi @Tangula5C5D,

That's not entirely correct.  Peru Bob forgot about Adobe Portfolio, Behance and Adobe Spark.  Behance is free for everyone to use.  Portfolio and Spark are free perks with your paid Creative Cloud plan.

You can create up to 5 websites with Portfolio.  Hosting is on Adobe's web servers.   And Portfolio ties in with Behance and Lightroom collections.

https://portfolio.adobe.com/

Spark  is for social graphics, videos and newsletters

https://spark.adobe.com/

Behance

A website building app is not included with the Photography Plan.

Dreamweaver is included in the All Apps Plan:

Thank you SO much for clarifying that.  So for the basic $9.99 plan I see I do not get Dreamweaver.  Thank you.

@Nancy OShea I have been using LR for a good 5-6 years but never venture into website/portfolio. I recently did.

I started looking at Behance and liked its simplicity.

Then I realized there's Adobe Portfolio (which was featured in Behance).

I clicked getting started and quickly built a portfolio page.

Now, I'm a little confused about the positioning of Behance vs Portfolio. It looks quite similar to me. What would you advise in choosing one over another?

I'm also quite surprised that LR does not have a connection service to Behance but there's one for Portfolio. It seems like Adobe is favoring Portfolio than Behance?

Here's my feeling:

Portfolio is simply a website and we can connect LR to it so that we can easily publish a list of photos. Obviously, we can customize the respective webpage with contact info, link to other social media etc.

Behance is similarly a webpage for hosting photos. It actually have a option to get LR photos into its projects. (but no options from LR to publish to Behance). But the main difference here is that there's a whole section on Jobs. Organizations can offer jobs here and designer/photographers can showcase their works here so they maybe contacted.

So, if I am not exactly looking for a job or waiting to be hunted, Portfolio seems to be simpler?

Is my assumption correct? What's your views?

I use BOTH.

Whatever images you put on Portfolio can be synced to Behance and vice versa.

What's the difference?

================

  • Portfolio requires a paid Creative Cloud subscription.  It's a customizable site builder with free PF Templates.
  • Behance is a free social platform for connecting with other Creatives and Live Streaming (like Twitch).

Thanks.

I can see that Behance contents synchronizing to Portfolio: I have 3 test projects on Behance before I started Portfolio. Once started, in Portfolio, I have a page (site) that has the 3 projects from Behance. I can also see settings in Portfolio to allow Behance projects to be imported. But I don't see them sync'ed. IE., after Portfolio imported projects from Behance, if I added projects to Behance, or update any of the projects, the changes won't got propagated to Portfolio.

Also, at Portfolio, if I edit the page (page that got imported from Behance), those changes won't propagate to Behance. Am I missing anything or settings?

No.  You're not missing anything.  It's not automatic.  You have the option to import Behance projects into your various Portfolio sites (up to 5) or not.  This gives you more flexibility to pick & choose as you see fit.

Keep playing with it.  With practice, you'll get more familiar with how it works.

"Spark is gone, the link redirects to Adobe Express."

Not exactly. I never used Spark but I believe that

1. Where the link goes is not called "Adobe Express", it's called "Adobe Creative Cloud Express".

2. This is the new name for Spark, which is basically the same product.

So Spark is not gone, it's renamed. I had noticed that Adobe could hardly have picked a more confusing name for the product...

The paid version of CC Express for $10/mo includes premium features in:

- Adobe Spark Video — Quickly create stunning video slideshows.

The free (starter) version does not included premium features.

Also CC Express has two dedicated support communities now which Spark didn't have.

This page has a plan comparison:

And I said Adobe Express because the link is adobe.com/express and I have a feeling that's what people will call it 😉
