What is going on here?

Two versions taking up space, which I am desperate for !

Tried deleting but Adobe dictates what I can and can't have 

It won't uninstall from control panel

This is another nail in Adobe's coffin for when I cancel my subs in 2 weeks

1. You have 2 apps because you updated with CC. It's an option whether you keep the old app. Many people want to do this so they can learn it at their leisure, and have a fallback if anything doesn't work. 
2. remove the old version using the CC app only, not the control panel.

I just see one Illustrator in the app and no way to delete it

The CC app doesn't give an uninstall option in the 3 dots menu

But which version would it be anyway?
