I have searched the conversations on this website but none of the offered solutions work for me!

Wndows 10 Home.

On both Photoshop CC and Lightroom Classic I suddenly am unable to use the update function!

After clicking on the (Help Menu) update button I get the message "Updates have been disabled for this machine. Please contact your administrator"!

I have tried all the solutions I have found that might apply to my case but none have been successful.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi there,

Are you working on a machine managed by an IT/Administrator from your work/institute? What version of Photoshop & Lightroom Classic are you working on? Have you tried using the Creative Cloud app to update your applications?

Use the Creative Cloud app to update your Adobe apps: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

Let me know if this helps,
Thanks!

Do you have the latest Windows 10 updates?

Creative Cloud works on:

  • Windows 10 versions 21H2, 21H1, 20H2, 2004, and 1909 (LTSB branches are not supported;)

One more thing.  When prompted by Windows security for permission to edit files on your system, enter your computer user password.  It's required to update software.  You need a user profile with administrative permissions.
