2012 iMac will not install updates...

So I am feelining mildly pissed about the fact that my 21.5" 2012 iMac will not install Creative Cloud Application Updates because they will only run on MacOS 10.14, which my $2,200 iMac is not capable of running.  I get planned obsolescence & all that but as a graphic designer whose workstation is a daily workhorse, I find it unacceptable and mercenary that my monthly subscription no longer entitles me to use the latest versions of some of my critical applications because my computer is 8 years old.

Adobe needs to review this policy and come up with a strategy to make these apps functionable on OS 10.13. There is an online file converter that will supposedly convert your file to IDML Format so it acan be openend, but I have yet to make it work successfully in spite of multiple attempts!

Thanks for the vent!

Thanks for the reply.  Short answer: Nope.  Unfortunately MacOS10.14 Mojave will not run on my iMac.  Going to shop around for someting newer and compatible.  I totally get that my system is aging out & that just the "nature of the beast" so to speak.  My objection is over the fact that I am continuing to pay my full monthly subscription for updates that I cannot install.  Seems a bit mercenary to me.

It's Apple's strategy to make it hard to support apps over many versions. Adobe don't gain by this even slightly for their subscription apps, but Apple do... all part of the Joy Of Mac...

Yeah totally.  Seems a bit arbitrary but that just how things work.  Thanks!  🙂
