Adobe Creative Cloud applications on Ubuntu/Linux

As I understand that you have added a video that shows how to install Creative Cloud on Ubuntu/ Linux, however, as of now that option is not available.

From the video, it looks like it's working to me. It may not be supported, but it's certainly an option for those interested, at least until Adobe realizes the user-base they are missing out on. It looks like the method only supports a few older apps at the moment based on the readme.md of the script developer.

Give us, customers, what we want.
Otherwise, we will find it by ourselves (maybe in another company if we need to).

Are there plans to make it available? I am currently in the process of backing up all files and switching away from Windows 10 due to their intrusive background apps. We pay good money for a subscription and shouldn't be held to ransom by either Apple or Microsoft.

I'm currently doing the same, running Manjaro Linux. Linux is quickly becoming a superior option over Windows and as of right now, Adobe CC is the only thing keeping me tied to Windows.

Adobe CC is the only thing makes me restart my PC to open windows -_-
I hope they make Creative Cloud available for Linux someday soon

You could set a virtual machine running your Windows installation from Linix, but it would mess your Windows activation. MS software would think it's running on another device and thats against the licensing. Supplying another CDKey would fix the activation. You would loss some hardware capabilities too but I guess it may work well.

Im doing exactly opposite on Windows - I run my Debian installation as VM and very seldom have to reboot to run Debianm as my main OS.

Lets  be respectful towards the messenger, at least we get some feedback from an Adobe rep. Its obvious that we are dealing with a corporate alliance with no intention of supporting Linux. Hopefully a company like Xiaomi will make the most of the thousands of newly graduated software engineers and give us some alternatives in the next few years.

This answer is interesting - not available yet. Since Adobe make products for Mac for decades and support this Linux's brother system of Unix family, it seems they got something, but they are waiting for something... Well, Apple does not wait for nobody, never did, and will go alone with Big Sur + ARM and will let Adobe behind... again! I really don't get some decisions (or lack of decisions) of companies as Adobe that has so much in hands...

As I remember in the presentation of Apple Silicon they said that Adobe has transitioned flawlessly to the new Silicon since before BigSur and the Silicon Announcment.

What is, in fact a new condition in the market is that a lot of frontends programmers are using more and more Linux, and Adobe is way behind in this market, that is why Figma and others will shine against Adobe.

It's not supported, but it is possible due to other developers' effort... surprisingly they are not from Adobe.

Just because it can't be supported, it doesn't mean it can't be done.  You've badly misunderstood the Linux community if you think they won't find ways aroudn this. WINE is a well-known way of running many Windows applications on Linux. However, if you would provide native Linux support, it would be much more stable and less prone to piracy.

The point of the unfairness of all this matter is indeed in the matter of
RESTRAINING MY FREEDOM AS CUSTOMER in choosing my OS. I feel quite
castrated by this and I actually PAY A LOT each month for the full creative
cloud suite. Why Adobe have to force my choice? (for a service they call
"cloud" (!) )

I pay, many Linux lovers pay, we ask for something from years, a lot of
professional solution are currently available on Linux (Nvidia and Wacom
have proprietary drivers, Maya and a lot "big dudes" are actually deploying
for Linux). Since I pay I demand. That's why we really should let know
Adobe how many (and how angry) we are.

As a professional Linux admin, I'd like to let you know that this is
idiotic. As a professional Linux admin, using WINE to install this
program unless I have a commercial solution, which also exists for running
Windows on Linux, I would use the tools available to get it to work. You
clearly didn't think about which profession you were talking about before
posting.

Lol! Are you aware of the enormity of ur statement? Sry no offense intended
but yes, we are clearly speaking of different professions here. Please let
me explain (and have a little patience with my bad not mother tongue rusty
english):

1) consider the actual point of successful wine Adobe software porting —
not all the creative cloud available, very old releases, a lot of missing
features;

2) each tool has a target. Software or not, some basic tools sometime can
“do the job” if it’s not a very complicated one. A simple hammer can put a
nail in a wall fairy good enough to put a picture frame on ur bedroom. The
job is done and with no need of costly electric tool.

What does all of this mean? That CC is an high entangled ecosystem that
allows to use team instruments, highly specialized functions, powerful “pro
stuff” that a lot of people may not need or even know they exist, how they
work and why (how many of the “average” photo retouching amateurs color
correct a photo using LAB and single channels from RGB and CMYK operating
stuff with ALL of that? That’s a technique that uses simple tools but just
more advanced than average level). Linux has already Gimp and Inscape that
are powerful enough for the most people but not surely for some others kind
of target. Having old and crippled version of the software is not an
option, as having it virtualized or interpreted its the same problem.

Efficiency is a must in professional environment. And the time spent on
solve software troubles or the computing power or the features u loose
while working on a TRUE professional tool in a TRUE professional task
(maybe in a team collaboration) are something everyone would love to avoid.

Again on the matter of “different tools for different needs”: u’ll not
write a web page in C or C++ even if u are able to! But because it’s not
needed and not efficient! Same u’ll not write an operating system in
..whatever.. JavaScript? So use Photoshop 2015 in wine if u wanna play with
that, if u wanna study it otherwise make the job done with GIMP if u don’t
need the space shuttle to go from A to B.

But please do not ask pro people (and Adobe is the standard in this
industry field for some reasons) to land on Mars with a steam train.

3) CREATIVE Cloud is made for... creatives, not software engineers. If u
know also the technical part of the software and hardware u are using good
for u but it’s not what is requested when u have to design a magazine for
example. You must have other skills - design skill. You are a Linux admin,
I’m a graphic designer and art director. So yes... our job is surely
different 🙂

I hope this long stuff I wrote was at least easy to read and understand.

I second what Righteo asked. I've switched to Linux over a year ago & use Black Magic Design's products (including hardware).

Regarding the video,  the script appears to work under the compatibility layer (on Arch Linux) - but without After Effects in the list for some reason. I will keep on checking.
