Acrobat Reader is a free application.  No subscription required but it has very limited features.  Acrobat Pro DC costs money.  And it sounds like that's what you ordered.

What Nancy said.

Sounds like you need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

https://acrobat.adobe.com/us/en/acrobat/pdf-reader.html

You have inadvertently downloaded and subscribed to the similarly named Adobe Acrobat DC instead. That's a subscription product.

When exactly did you subscribe to Acrobat DC? You can cancel for free if you only subscribed within the last 14 days.

When you 'click to agree' to the subscription terms while buying a subscription, that means that you really do need to read BEFORE you buy a subscription... https://www.adobe.com/misc/subscription_terms.html
