I had a similar issue.

Make sure that you have all Windows updates that are available.

The one thing that was causing it for me, believe it or not, was that I needed to do a clean installation of the latest Studio graphics driver from the NVIDIA website. After doing that and restarting, all was OK.

Thank you, I'm on a Mac but hopefully what you sent will cover it.

Appreciate it.

Thanks, I needed to update my software, even though it is set for auto-update. It may have been uploading the correct app all along, I was expecting a different interface.

What threw me off is I am able to open a Dropbox Photoshop file remotely on a PC, but when I try to open the same file on my Mac here, it says it is not a 'valid Photoshop document'. The remote file is handled by a different Creative account. The last time I had worked on this particular file, it was using my remote account.

Any idea why this might be happening? Usually, I can cross back and forth with no issues.

A PSD file is a PSD file.  It's either associated with Photoshop or it's not. And that file association occurs at the OS level.   It has nothing to do with which CC account you were using to create the file.
