Can you ever own Premiere Pro without subscription? or do you pay £20 for it per month forever now?

Basically the question is do you ever eventually pay for/own Premiere Pro? or do you continue to pay for it forever through subscriptions. I've been paying £20 a month for two years now which is £480 and I couldve nearly paid the old price for it in a year or so.

I would've thought they may implement a cut off where after you have paid a certain amount (pretty much paid over the odds for it) they would stop your subscription.

No, it is forever. If you stop paying it stops working. Adobe's target customer is someone who upgraded to each new version, and the subscription does include all upgrades. If you were an upgrader, then the price works out rather less than the old model.
