Creative Cloud (CC 2018) won't update apps

So this is a weird one and it's been happening for the past six months or so. The creative cloud 2018 desktop app won't keep my apps like After Effects or Premiere Pro up to date like it should.

I'm on the most recent version of Mac OSX and my machine has the hardware to run things, I just think it could be a problem with the app itself. For example, my AE app has stayed in 15.0.1 probably since it released or since I had a similar problem updating from the previous version to the most recent.

For those of you who don't know already you can update to the most recent version by uninstalling the app and then reinstalling by choosing the most recent version.

I'm not sure why the CC app won't update my apps, the recent versions won't appear in the 'Other versions' section of each app either, so it's incredibly weird.

Just wanted to bring this up and see what people are experiencing and if there's a fix yet.

you should probably do a clean install:

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

A very clean install! We needed to reinstall the whole system from scratch to get rid of that nasty problem and some other nasty problems.

The fact that this is still not fixed after more than a year is beyond words... Been having this issue for almost 2 years now. It's relatively easy to fix, but when you are working remotely and trying to open a project that you already worked on, on your windows PC (where you have auto update) and then figure out you can't open the project is frustrating. Sometimes you are on bad wifi and reinstalling the apps takes forever. And we editors and creatives are always under deadlines so that makes the waiting even worse. Is there a way to send a ticket to Adobe? If enough of us say something they might consider fixing their software.

Rant off...

there's someone on your computer causing your recurrent problem.  that's usually an av, antimalware, cleaner etc type of program.

eg, i've had cc installed on my home pc since 2016 and never had to do a clean install.  i'm not sure how long i've had my work pc with cc on it but it's been years and i've not had to do a clean install.  i've had cc on a 2015 macbook and never had a problem on it, either.

Hi ,

Just to be sure what you call last version?

After Effects CC 2018 = After effects 15

Premiere Pro CC 2018 = Premiere Pro 12

The app update issue remains unresolved.  No, a complete, clean reinstall does not resolve anything.  Every time I reboot my MacOS desktop, Creative Cloud insists on reinstalling; and the updates on all CC apps are dead.  Nothing EVER updates.
