Download Elements 12 Problems

I am trying to download Elements 12 and enter my serial number in.  Simple you might think.  Well no - nothing I do works.  I was given the DVD with Elements 12 for a Christmas gift a few years back.  I used it on an old laptop - took a note of the serial number.  However, since then I have lost the DVD and changed laptops- without CD drive.  Today I have spent hours going round and round in circles with Adobe.  The links continually trying to get me to purchase Elements 2020 - which I don't want.  When eventually I managed to get to a place where I could put my serial number in .....it says it doesn't recognise the number.  I am totally frustrated.  Can anyone please help.  When I have read other people having the same problems ....with links to the Adobe site ....they just take me straight back to the place where Adobe are wanting me to buy 2020.  Thanks to anyone who can send me a simple download that will recognise my serial number.

-Log-in to your account and click this link https://account.adobe.com/products
--click Order history on the left and then the link to your order that will show on the right
--and finally click the link "Downloads and serial numbers" that will appear
--as always, write the serial number in a text file AND copy that text file and the
---download file(s) to an external drive (or two) to be sure you have what you need
-if you did not buy direct from Adobe via download you must find your original install
--if you have an Education or volume license you MUST use your original media
--the link for an Education or volume license download is not available at all
-if you bought a disc and don't have a drive you will need to buy an external USB drive
-if you bought a download from a 3rd party vendor you will need to contact that vendor

Your software is 8 years out of date.  That's nothing to be sentimental about. 

Here's what you need:
1. original or replacement media (disks or downloads) and a way to read them,
2. a legitimate serial number for that particular media version and platform (Win/Mac),
3. an older operating system that can support legacy software.

NOTE: Catalina cannot support older 32-bit apps.

You can try the download links from ProDesign Tools. But make sure to follow the VERY IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS on that page or it won't work.  Also Adobe may remove these installers at anythime without notice.
