I'm not sure of the reasoning but I am running Windows 10 on a reasonably old desktop (my new one is on order). I cannot update CC, which means that fonts don't sync, I cannot uninstall anything, etc. I've downloaded the new one but it doesn't appear to be running. I could do with someone to help

Ok, version 2004 (which Microsoft also call build 19041) is pretty recent, from 2020. It should support the latest Creative Cloud apps, provided the other system requirements are met.

You say you can't update CC. What version is currently running? And what messages do you get when you try to upgrade?
