Photoshop and Lightroom are not supported on Windows 8.1.

You'll have to upgrade to Windows 10.

>>>Very bad marketing decision..

The article above suggests it was for technical reasons more than marketing.

Windows 8.1 is already end of life, for almost 3 years now. It is a museum system. You need to run museum apps on it, but Adobe only sell the latest ones, for supported systems.

It's a bad decision to be sentimental about an old OS. Microsoft ended Windows 8 and 8.1 mainstream support on January 9, 2018!!  For security reasons, you need to upgrade.  Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I know! I decided to upgrade to Windows 10, since it's a free upgrade for me.

The decision is weird rather; I found out Win 7 SP1 and Win10 are supported, but not Win 8.x !

Correct. Refer my previous post and links above in this discussion.

Glad to hear you upgraded to Win  10 rather than seeking a refund and continuing with Win 8.1. Much better decision.

Some system components—for example, device drivers and virus protection utilities—conflict with the installer. They can cause an incomplete or failed installation Pinoy. To prevent these conflicts, install from the desktop. Copy the Adobe Photoshop Elements or Adobe Premiere Elements folder from the disc to the desktop
