File access after cancelling account

I had a free trial of Adobe Pro while I was quarantined and working from home.  That trial has expired.  I'm unable to open any of the PDFs that I saved with Adobe Pro during the free trial.  Is there a way to do this?  I see the files in my downloads, but they aren't able to be opened.  I have attachments in a grant application that I need to open...and I have a rapidly approaching deadline---help!!!  My files seem to have been wiped out after the free trial ended.  Does anyone know if this is the case?
