I have a 2011 Macbook Air with os Lion 10.7.5 and Lightroom 3. I want to upgrade to Lightroom 6 and had asked an authorized apple vendor to upgrade the os to El Capitan, in anticipation of then upgrading to Lightroom 6 and having few compatibility issues. The technician actually installed Sierra.

Given the situation, what is the best option as far as the system upgrade and software update?

1. Should I use Sierra and proceed with the Lightroom 6 upgrade; or

2. Should I have Sierra removed, replaced with El Capitan and then update Lr?

Of course, there may be another solution all together.

Your thoughts will be appreciated.
