Hi all, we're haveing persistant issues with the Adobe CC desktop app, as well as other apps such as Ind and PS. This seems to happen each month, where the CC app will not open and a prompt window appears and says:
Adobe Creative Cloud is needed to resolve this problem. However, it is missing or damaged. Please download and install a new copy of the Creative Cloud from 'http://www.adobe.com/go/adobecreativecloudapp'.
The two options are Quit or Repair. Clicking Quit will quit the app, but it takes around 5 minutes to do so. Clicking repair brings up this message:
Repair is failing due to some error. Please download and install a new copy of the Creative Cloud from 'http://www.adobe.com/go/adobecreativecloudapp'.
At this point we ususally run the Adobe CC cleaner and run a fresh install, but after a few weeks it happens again. We have around 30 machines with the same issue, so this is becoming very time consuming.
If we try and run apps (such as Ind) with the CC issue, the app crashes with this info in the log. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on here? Any help would be hugely appreciated,
if it's an id problem, reset its preferences - https://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990
if it's a cc app problem, first try, resetting the cc app: To reset the Creative Cloud desktop app, make sure it's in the foreground, then press:
Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R
if that fails, try to repair
if that fails go ahead and uninstall/reinstall per the above link
if that fails, do a clean cc install following each applicable step:
uninstall every cc app including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html
clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
check for, and if available, update your os
restart your computer (don't skip this)
reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.
if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)
use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials
