LibCEF crashes so far seems to be from people running Windows 7 but not installing ServicePack 1. Go install the Service Pack.

ATIO6axx.dll is your video card driver crashing. Go to AMD's website to update the driver, or at least to the 14.4 driver (which seems more stable than the current one).

Hi there,

Thankyou for your advice however this has not worked.

-I was able to rename the SLCache file, however there was no

C:\ProgramData\Adobe

folder and no SLStore file that I could find.

-The program still crashes without opening.

I am having the exact same issue. I did find the SLStore folder; it doesn't show up in Windows Explorer if you just browse for it, but if you enter the path they have provided in the address bar then it will open the folder. However, once I renamed both the folders, I got a message saying to uninstall and reinstall the product, with an error code of "Error: 16."

I tried running as an administrator and I tried changing permissions as per the directions, but it still keeps crashing every time I try to start it up. I am running Windows 7 Pro with Service Pack 1, so I'm not sure there is anything I can do on that end of things either. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bryan

Sean, Program data is usually hidden, try to unhide the folders in C:\ drive or paste "C:\ProgramData\Adobe" in address bar.

In in case you get configuration: 16 message like Bryan Chu has stated, try to run the application as administrator (Right click on app> click on Run as administrator). If that doesn't resolve Configuration : 16 try: Configuration error | CC, CS

I've tried the steps involving configuration and permissions, but no luck.

I've tried reinstalling using Creative Cloud, which should open as a CC app, but that won't open either.

Very frustrating.

PROBLEM  SOLVED for the moment!

First i upgraded the AMD drivers for my Radeon X1300/1550 Graphics card. Unfortunately the same result: APPCRASH.

After that i removed the Radeon including the drivers and turned back to the on-board built-in Graphics card in my Dell Optiplex 760 and: IT WORKS!

A little bit sad, because the on-board graphics card is much slower than the Radeon. At least i can work now, but i am still disappointed. Lightroom 5.7 worked fine on this machine and i do not want to have to bother with "computer things" but do my creative job! Why is it that Lightroom 5.7 works well and 6.0 does not?

Anybody an advice which graphics adapter (PCI Express) i can use in my (old but still functioning well) Dell Optiplex 760?

I tried the tip to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1, but it hasn't changed

anything for me; still crashing.

I don't know why I'm getting an AMD error, because I'm using an NVIDIA

GTX760. Maybe its trying to use the onboard graphics on my Gigabyte mobo.

I'll try and update the AMD driver anyway.

Your crash report only indicated libCEF.dll - the Windows 7 issue.

Cisca's crash report was in the ATI video card driver.

I still haven't managed to get Lightroom 6 working.

I have now disabled my onboard Intel graphics in BIOS.

My graphics card is an Nvidia GTX760 which was running Lightroom 6 fine

until upgraded the mobo and CPU.

I have installed Lightroom 5.7 and this runs fine.

Still trying different things until I get it working..[?]

Chris Cox you were right. I'd assumed SP1 installed okay but it hadn't. After some rigmarole getting SP1 to install Lightroom 6 has successfully run. Thankyou for the advice.

Glad I could help.  Yeah, I also had one machine reject the SP1 install on the first attempt.
