Lightroom Update Stuck at 34%

First time ever having an issue like this - was using Lightroom a few hours before this with no problems at all. Then in the afternoon, when opening Lightroom, the library wasn't loading. An error message appeared so I went into Creative Cloud to check on Lighroom app. Uninstalled and when trying to reinstall, said I needed to update Mac OS to newer version. Downloaded new software to Mac. Downloaded Lightroom successfully. It opened normally but then got stuck at 34% during the update. Waited a long time and no change. Have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times, restarted Mac, and from here I don't know what else to do. Have done this about 5 times now, always stuck at 34%. Please help!
