Need password for Photoshop installer to make changes (Mac OS)

I just got a new computer and I am trying to download photoshop. After I click "open" this message pops up. I have tried numerous usernames and passwords and none work. I don't know what to do, please help!

It's exactly the same principle on Mac and Windows. I use both. Computers have user accounts. You can be a user or an administrator. Only Admins can make changes to installed files. In other words, install or modify software and upgrades.On your Mac, click Apple logo (top left) > System Preferences > Users & Groups. That'll show you the accounts on your computer.If you are the only one using it then you probably only have one account set up and you are the admin.So, when you see that screen, you...

This is not a Photoshop message.  It is a Windows message that your operating system's security settings is displaying,  Windows wants a password before it will allow you to open the file.

That screenshot is actually from a Mac.

It is your OS X operating system asking for your local admin username and password on your computer (not your Adobe ID) for permission to make changes (i.e. install files) on your local hard drive. You'll see it whenever you install any new software - not just Adobe.

I am very new to Mac. I don't know what you mean by local admin username/password. I've tried my Apple ID info and that does not work.

On your Mac, click Apple logo (top left) > System Preferences > Users & Groups. That'll show you the accounts on your computer.

If you are the only one using it then you probably only have one account set up and you are the admin.

So, when you see that screen, you enter the username and password you use to sign on to the Mac. That tells the Mac operating system (Sierra) that you as Admin are authorising the software to be installed and it is safe to proceed.

Posting in an Adobe forum will not help you with an Apple operating system issue.

 

You're either using the wrong Apple ID or the wrong password for your Apple ID. If so, reset it. It's easy enough. I do it occasionally.

Im using the exact same username and password that I use to get onto my computer..and it's still not working.  I did what was stated above, tried to change it, and it's saying my password is wrong as the administrator too...so what password is it looking for? it isn't the one I use to log in to my computer everyday.
